Middle School Compositing Box

We are very gratified with the various turns and direction that this Middle School special project of community service has undergone for the purpose of community outreach. As this is the last Carmelink issue of the school year, I'm pleased to announce the culmination of an ecological project of the Design Technology group in our Middle School.

With the cooperation of Howard Elias at the Jewish Cemetery and under teacher Mark Davidson's supervision, the students presented a beautiful compositing box to beautify the cemetery by providing the fertilization materials and nutrients necessary to beautify the flower beds and gravesites. These cemetery enhancements will help dignify the beauty of the Jewish Cemetery.

The students designed and constructed this special wooden box container pictured here which will provide the natural ecological and organic approach to beautifying the environment and respecting the natural surrounding. All Carmel students will be responsible for contributing refuse and organic products to help in the composting process to be transported to the Jewish Cemetery throughout the year.
