Parents and the PTA

Parents at Carmel School play an integral and supportive role in the education of their children. Families are kept up to date with each child's progress through regular communications, school information sessions and other opportunities to meet with teachers, staff and fellow parents. Formal feedback on progress comes in the form of twice-yearly written school reports, yearly interim reports and parent-student-teacher conferences.

Carmel School has a very active and dedicated PTA that supports the school, our students and parents in a number of ways. In addition to coordinating the team of ‘Class Parents’, arranging volunteers for school and class projects and being the driving force behind the Annual Dinner, the PTA plans social and education programs for the parent body and assists in organising, sponsoring and assisting with school programs.

The PTA holds an Annual General Meeting each year (usually in June) to which all parents of students attending the School are invited to attend. The AGM usually includes a presentation by the PTA and the Board of Directors, covering achievements of the previous year and objectives and challenges for the forthcoming years. There is an opportunity for parents and other interested parties to raise questions on those presentations and other matters affecting the school.

For more information on the PTA and how to get involved, please see our school handbook.
