Head of Carmel School : Edwin Epstein
Carmel School is one of the miracles of the Diaspora. Thousands of miles from where most of its families call home, the School provides an intellectual, spiritual and social home that is in many respects the centre of Hong Kong's Jewish community. Our students hail from more than a dozen countries, speak nearly as many languages, and represent a wide range of religious backgrounds. But they and their families form a common ground here founded on tolerance, respect for the individual and high levels of secular and religious educational achievement.
Carmel School is committed to providing children living in Hong Kong with the highest international standard of secular and Jewish education. Through small classes and individual attention, the school offers a supportive environment that develops students' confidence, imagination and skills, in both academic and social spheres. The pursuit of excellence and the development of a Jewish identity are the mission of the school and its teachers. Children leave Carmel with a strong self-image and thrive in the global world while taking pride in the Jewish world they have come to love.
