Upcycled by Carmel

In this day and age, plastic pollution is everywhere and we need to be part of the solution, not the problem. Even though we are small, we can still make an impact. With your help, we can reduce the plastic waste that is strangling the world!

Welcome to the Plastics Lab at Carmel School Elsa High School! We are the Upcycling Team and through beach clean ups and plastics recycling drives we collect plastic to repurpose in our lab. We recycle plastic waste from around Hong Kong into new products that we design in a 3D environment.

The story of Precious Plastics at Carmel Elsa High School began with a simple idea: turning wasted plastic into new objects. The project was brought by a parent of the school after hearing about this project. Soon after, the necessary machines were bought and a lab was created.

Today, ‘Precious Plastics’ which has been rebranded as ‘Upcycled by Carmel’ continues to thrive, with new students joining the project and the workshop becoming a hub for creativity, innovation and environmental awareness. We are proud to be a part of a movement of change for the better.
