Employment at one of Carmel School's campuses is very rewarding and many opportunities arise to join the Carmel family as a member of staff. Specific skills and experience that we are looking for in our teachers at Carmel School can be found on the Job Openings page.
Carmel School's expectations for teachers are aligned with our educational philosophy and supported through professional development. We are seeking teachers who are truly passionate about education, who can spark intellectual curiosity, and who can inspire a love of learning. Appointments are made without reference to the religion of candidates; however, an empathy with the ethos of our Modern Orthodox Jewish Day School is required.
Our goal is to offer a competitive remuneration package that is attractive for recruiting and retaining faculty who are passionate about offering quality education. In addition, we offer a 5-day week, medical insurance, complimentary lunch and ongoing opportunities for professional development and promotion.
To apply, please send an application letter with CV to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that only shortlisted applicants will be contacted. If you do not hear from us, please assume that your application has been unsuccessful. Personal data collected will be used for recruitment purposes only.
To support out teachers and to continually improve student learning in the School, Professional Development (PD) is organised on a regular basis, and can be achieved through several means:
- Attending conferences and workshops
- Assessing development against current research and teaching practices, and in dialogue with colleagues in the School
- Drawing on our own, local and international experiences
- Promoting cooperative practices amongst teachers
- Pursuing further study
- Establishing personal goals
Carmel School believes that every teacher has the right to an objective, overt, regular process of appraisal, and the School has adopted an integrated system combining personal as well as school development. Evaluation is an ongoing process and every member of the staff is encouraged to challenge themselves and to develop their skills.
