Parents and the PTA

Built on a foundation of Excellence, Community and Tradition, Carmel School Association combines a 21st-century learning environment — geared towards academic excellence — with ingrained community spiritedness and the bedrock of Judaic religious tradition and teachings.

The breadth and depth of available programs across Carmel means that each and every student has the potential to explore hidden talents and allow individual strengths to blossom and thrive. And when this enriching and developmental environment is coupled with a very favourable teacher–student ratio, allowing room for bespoke, child-centred educational strategies, it becomes clear that Carmel provides a truly unique pedagogical experience for children in Hong Kong.

Parents of students at Carmel School Association play an integral and supportive role in the education of their children. Families are kept up to date with each child's progress through regular communications, school information sessions and other opportunities to meet with teachers, staff and fellow parents. Formal feedback on progress comes in the form of twice-yearly written school reports, yearly interim reports and parent-student-teacher conferences.

PTA

Carmel School Association has a very active and dedicated PTA that supports the school, our students and parents in a number of ways. In addition to coordinating the team of ‘Class Parents’, arranging volunteers for school and class projects and being the driving force behind the Annual Dinner, the PTA plans social and education programs for the parent body and assists in organising, sponsoring and assisting with school programs.

PTA Annual General Meeting

The PTA holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the PTA each year (usually in June) to which all parents of students attending the School and the Holly Rofé Early Learning Centre are invited to attend. The AGM usually includes a presentation by the PTA and the Board of Directors, covering achievements of the previous year and objectives and challenges for the forthcoming years. There is an opportunity for parents and other interested parties to raise questions on those presentations and other matters affecting the school.
