All of the Kindergarten to Grade 5 students were fortunate to watch a wonderful production at BRC this morning, generously sponsored by the PTA. The show was called Splat! was an exciting mix of rhythm and rhyme that showcased poetic styles beautifully brought alive with a dramatic twist.

This was perfect timing as many grades are currently learning about poems as well as storytelling and communication through various mediums during the How We Express Ourselves unit of inquiry.

The show introduced new poems and some old ones too, a dash of the classic and contemporary. Many poetic styles were involved, including narratives, limericks, couplets, ballads, acrostics and more. Poets featured included Spike Milligan, Langston Hughes, Shel Silverstein, E.E. Cummings. It was a fun, fast-paced show full of costume changes, sound effects, laughter and imagination!
