Our class jobs chart is ready, well done to Kindergarten for working together to create it! The children are excited to take more responsibility in class and we hope to start the jobs soon. This week we also kicked off our new unit Where We Are in Place and Time by having the children participate in a gallery walk. During a gallery walk, the students explored various images of toys and games that we placed around the classroom. Some of the images of toys were quite obscure as they were from a long time ago, and this really piqued the children’s curiosity about what we were going to learn! As a class, we then discussed what we observed and filled out a “see, think, wonder” chart. The students also had the opportunity to share their favorite toy or game in front of their peers.
In literacy we learnt the sound and letter formation for "g", please see below for the sound card with accompanying visual and rhyme:
Our sight word of the week is "can", and we continue to revise previous sight words. Sight Words Learnt so far: I, like, my, see, can
We also practiced blending the following CVC words this week: dig, gas, tag, dip, pig, gap
If you'd like to print out CVC flashcards for home you can find them below:

In Maths we learnt a new strategy for addition, the number line. The number line is great for working with larger numbers. Here is a short video explaining how we use the number line for addition in Kindergarten: https://youtu.be/1TSSZ3wUOPs?t=9
Keep healthy and Shabbat Shalom
