Grade 2 Weekly Overview (23 September)

Grade 2 enjoyed an amazing week together. Here's what we did this week.

Math: Students reviewed 2 digits addition and subtraction problems by using the number line. They also practiced doing 2 digit addition without regrouping using the column forms. They uploaded some of their work on Seesaw.

Literacy: Students reviewed adjectives this week. They also started writing short stories. They were introduced to the story elements, including the characters, plots, and settings. They also learned that including problems and solutions in the story would make it more interesting for the readers. They started creating their own characters and a short story mind map.

Inquiry: We focused on the fourth line of inquiry- How to accept and reflect on challenges. They learned about the differences between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset and how changing their mindsets would help them take on challenges and do their best.

Reminders:

We gave out homework for this week. Students have also taken a leveled reader home. Please encourage your child to read every day. We will collect the homework on Wednesday.

We recommend students have their PE hats in their bags so that they could use them during the hot days outside.
