On Friday 13 December, the entire Grade 8 group embarked on an excursion to CLP Pulse with teachers from the Science Department. CLP is an electricity provider serving Kowloon and the New Territories. Before our visit, we collectively engaged in a research task exploring the historical significance and impact of CLP Pulse. Additionally, we delved into the legacy of the Kadoorie family, a well-known Jewish dynasty responsible for overseeing not only CLP Pulse but also other influential institutions in Hong Kong such as the iconic 'Peninsula Hotel' and the renowned 'Kadoorie Farm'.
The exhibition at CLP Pulse proved to be both engaging and informative, offering insights relevant to modern-day discussions, particularly talking about environmental impacts. The interactive displays communicated a clear and enjoyable understanding of how electricity is produced and distributed in Hong Kong, serving as a fitting conclusion to our Science Unit on 'Do You Feel Electric?'
