The CSA boys’ Badminton A team showed great independence and support for each other, they were based at the furthest point from the girls so it was hard to see what was happening but they could be heard cheering and clapping for each other. The team was led well by Aiden and they produced dominant wins v DC 4-1, and v NAIS 4-1.
Our CSA girls’ Badminton team played against a strong DC team and were nervous at the start. There were some outstanding debuts including our Grade 6s Megan, Rotem and Silvia. In their second game, they found their confidence including a great singles game from Bela and a hard fought 22-20 win for Megan and Rotem in the doubles.
Mr. Andrew Baldwin
It was a great first day out for the CSA boys’ Badminton B team. We made a tremendous start in winning all five of our games against a competitive AISHK side. Individually and collectively the boys worked well in both the singles and doubles matches.
Next up, we faced the hosts, Malvern College. The games were close but the stronger side prevailed in the end. Our MVP of the day Roi clawed a game back in the final singles session to make it 5-1.
All the boys were a pleasure to have outside of the classroom. It was a tremendous experience for some of the lads in representing CSA for the first time in a badminton setting. Hopefully we will have many more days ahead with this bunch!
