On Monday 24 March the Carmel School Badminton A Team played against a strong team from Harrow International School. Upon arriving, we were struck by the size of Harrow’s campus. Some teams may have been intimidated by the extensive grounds and facilities, but not us. We were there to compete.
CSA won our first two games, putting us on a comfortable 2-0 lead. Aiden, our team captain and star player led by example, winning his first singles match, and this was followed by a doubles win by Aiden and Nathan. Harrow came back strong, winning the next two games, putting the pressure on. It came down to the deciding game. Nerves were running high, but Peter stepped up and took control of the game, comfortably winning 21-10.
CSA returned victorious, and we are now going to compete in the ISSFHK badminton finals! It has been amazing to see our growth and development in the past few months and the future looks bright for Carmel's badminton team.
Thank you to Mr. O’Connell for accompanying us, to Mr. Baldwin for organising the team, and to our teammates and the School for giving us so much support during our journey in competing for CSA Badminton.
