It was an absolutely amazing opportunity to have participated in this year’s ISSFHK Fencing Championships. I have been Fencing since the age of 9, however I have not participated in a fencing competition since 2022. I was proud of myself for progressing so far in the competition, moving on from the pool rounds into the knockout rounds and winning in the round of 32, then moving on into the round of 16.
Many people ask me why I chose fencing as a sport. I really think that it's the closest thing we have to the real life Star Wars! I am so happy to have represented Carmel School in something that I am so passionate about. Throughout the competition, I was able to meet new people with the same passion for fencing. The atmosphere was intense, it was filled with the sounds of swords clashing and spectators cheering. I am looking forward to doing even better next year! Thank you to Mr. Baldwin for his support.
