ISSFHK Swimming Mini Meet

Our Elsa swimmers train and compete with a variety of clubs and coaches outside of school, but through the ISSFHK they come together and compete as Carmel School against other international schools in Hong Kong. Ethan reflects below on our first competition, a Championship qualifying mini meet at CIS:

Attending the swim meet at CIS was one of the greatest swimming events I’ve experienced in a while for our school. One of the many reasons is that I beat my previous record times for backstroke and managed to outperform my competitors during qualifying, despite not training for almost three months. Competing against swimmers from various schools was both challenging and insightful, I took the chance to observe and learn other swimmer's start techniques and used these to adapt my own. Overall, this event not only taught me to push myself to the absolute limit but also to learn from others. As we compete, we find our areas for improvement and learn our strengths and advantages. We are all looking forward to the Championships on 5 December.
