On Tuesday 24 September our U14 Boys Football Team headed to Quarry Bay to face Island School. We were heading to the game with determination as this was our final few season matches.
The game started with IS threatening early from set pieces and they could have easily scored the opener. Thankfully with great determination, we capitalized on our chances instead. Thomas stepped up to take a corner and swung a wonderful cross which perfectly landed near Ori as he slotted home, we led 1-0 at halftime.
As the second half began, both teams were contesting for a goal. With 10 minutes remaining, we tried our best to get a shot for a goal. Itay took his chance and shot a powerful shot on goal which the goalkeeper saved but could not keep it in his hands. With the ball out in the box Akira reached for the ball with the IS defender doing the same. With an error for the IS defender the ball lobbed above their goalkeeper and we made it 2-0.
After our goal, we held onto our lead and defended with all our best and we finished the game with the full 3 points needed.
Well done to the boys for the victory and good luck for the game against German Swiss International School on Thursday 26 September!
