Huge congratulations to Joanne (Grade 7) for securing the First Runner-up (Secondary School Category) in the Grand Final of the 27th Hong Kong Mandarin Speech Contest 2025! We also applaud Silvia (Grade 6) for earning the First Runner-up (Primary School Category) in the Hong Kong Island Regional.

This year’s contest saw fierce competition, with 1,467 students from 302 primary and secondary schools across Hong Kong participating. Of these, 462 students (322 primary and 140 secondary) progressed to the regional semi-finals, reflecting an average advancement rate of 31.5%. Both Joanne and Silvia exemplified the spirit of perseverance and excellence, showcasing their dedication to mastering Mandarin. 

Held at the Hong Kong Central Library on Saturday 24 May, the event highlighted Joanne’s outstanding performance. As one of the youngest participants in her category, she delivered her speech with great confidence and later calmly responded to the live Q&A session. Joanne's achievement marks not only a personal breakthrough but also surpassing her own expectations and demonstrating remarkable growth.
