Principal's Message

Dear Carmel School Families - students and parents from our Pre-School, ELC, Elementary and Elsa High School sections,

It is a pleasure and privilege to welcome existing and new families to Carmel School for the 2024-25/5785 academic year. It was lovely seeing Holly Rofé parents yesterday and today at your class ‘Meet and Greet”, to welcome back Elementary students and parents together with Mrs. Levi and Elementary faculty at our Carmel Elementary campus and to address Elsa High School Grade 6-12 students at the Elsa High School campus.

Last week and earlier this week faculty from across all three campuses attended a busy and proactive Professional Development daily Programme, including induction for new staff. I marvelled – as I do every year – at how fortunate we are to have such a high-level, dedicated and committed faculty, Carmel School is indeed a family and our children benefit from an extraordinarily proactive engaged and dedicated PTA and administrative department who support learning and teaching, and experiential learning, as well as staff and student well-being.

We are living in a sadly changed world and our anxiety for Israel, our families and friends and the world situation is ongoing and felt daily by us and by our children. It is both uplifting and comforting to be part of the Carmel School community, where the achdut – unity – is palpable and where, together with students, we all constantly strive and practise engagement, academic excellence, innovation and an interactive, connected wellbeing community.

I wish you a Shabbat Shalom and a successful year. May we only hear b’sorot tovot – good news.

Mrs. Rachel Friedmann, Principal
