Carmel School is joining the Global 24 Hour Challah Make, in conjunction with Seed UK. Schools and organisations from around the world will join in baking unison over the 24 hour period between 5-6 November.
Daily deep cleaning and disinfection of all classrooms, meeting rooms, special rooms, offices, common areas, toilets and corridors following the ratio of 1:99 bleach disinfectant.
Regular sanitization of toilets, stairwell railings and door handles to be administered. Caretaker Team are required to fill in the cleaning & disinfecting times in the Duty Record Form for School to track and maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the School premises in a standard high level.
No drinking fountain is used. School reminds students to bring water bottle(s).
Posting of health education materials across the campuses, at a height that the students can easily see, outlining proper handwashing and good personal hygiene requirements
Monitoring Body Temperature
Parents are reminded daily via the School App and School website to take the body temperature of students before children leave for School.
Parents will receive body temperature record sheets which need to be signed and returned to School.
School should monitor the students’ body temperature upon entry to the School premises. Three stations are set up at the School entrance: one for staff/parents/ visitors and two for students.
Markers are placed on the floor outside the School building with one meter apart from each other, so that students queue up with social distancing while waiting.
Staff who must wear mask when taking temperature for students. All students should have their temperatures checked before entering the building.
All students are required to sanitize their hands before entering the building.
In the event that a student has a temperature, they will be asked to wait in a partitioned fever zone until they are collected by parents.
All Staff is required to check their body temperature before returning to School.
All personnel, including staff, students, parents and visitors are required to wear masks when they are in the School premises or taking the School bus, or other public transport vehicles.
School distributes a labeled mask keeper to every student for them to keep their masks in a safe and hygienic place during drinking and meal times.
Parents should send a spare mask to school with the students.
The School will provide masks for student/staff that need a fresh mask or that may have misplaced, damaged or forgotten their mask.
All students and visitors will be required to sign a Health and Travel Declaration Form before entry can be granted.
All students and visitors will be asked to keep their mask on at all times while on premises.
All students and visitors will have their temperature taken and will need to sanitize their hands before entering the premises.
Social Distancing & Mask Wearing
Students are reminded daily about the requirements for social distancing and mask wearing during class time, recess time and meal time.
Classroom layout are reorganized so that students will be seated 1 meter apart in classrooms, in single rows, facing one direction (see attached floor plan examples).
Markers are placed on the floor outside the toilets with one meter apart from each other, so that students queue up with social distancing when waiting to use the toilets.
Students should wear masks during recess time. They will take their recess times at different times and in different locations across the campus so as to avoid crowd gathering.
Recess times: At both campuses, students are divided by batches across the different areas e.g. outdoor playground, hall, libraries and supervised in order to keep a proper social distance with other students, mask wearing and adherence to sanitization protocols.
Gatherings and social contacts should be minimized. School should avoid non-essential gathering of students.
Assemblies: School will use public announcement system and/or online broadcast for weekly assemblies to avoid gathering of students.
Extra-curricular activities: No extra-curricular activities will be arranged during the prevalence of COVID-19.
Modified school timetable will be shared with all personnel.
